American singer and actress Whitney Houston has died at the age of 48, her publicist Kristen Foster has said

American singer and actress Whitney Houston has died in Los Angeles at the age of 48.

A spokesman for Houston's family confirmed the news, saying: "Unfortunately, it is true."

Houston was one of the most celebrated female singers of all time, with hits including I Will Always Love You and Saving All My Love For You.

But her later career was overshadowed by substance abuse and her turbulent marriage to singer Bobby Brown.

Police spokesman Mark Rosen told reporters Houston was pronounced dead at 15:55 pm (23:55 GMT) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, where she was staying as a guest.

Fire department personnel and members of hotel security were already attempting resuscitation when police arrived at the scene, he said.

"She has been positively identified by friends and family that were with her at the hotel, and next of kin have already been notified," he added.

The cause of her death remains unclear but Mr Rosen said there were "no obvious signs of criminal intent".

Yesterday, my colleague brought us to a restaurant called Kitchen Creatures which located at Centrepoint, Bandar Utama. They claim that it's no frills dining, meaning that they do not charge extra for government tax and service tax. Awesome, right?

When i first heard this perky name 'Kitchen Creatures', i could imagine the food they serve would be something fantastic or marvelous.The price is reasonable and the appearance of food is good enough.

Yesterday, we celebrated Fell's birthday at Fish Farm Thai Restaurant. For an unforgettable and delicious dinner, may I suggest this restaurant as it is a popular romantic spot for those who want to celebrate special occasion. The ride to the restaurant may be very bumpy but the lovely view of the fish pond and tasty food is well worth it.

It is a place hidden in the jungle of Hulu Langat, situated not too far from the famous 'Look Out Point'. It took us close to an hour's drive to get to the place from PJ. Once we reached there, there were many cars parked at the clearing and the place was full of people.

For the 6 of us, we ordered 1kg of crab, two types of fish, squid, vegetable and tom yam seafood. We ordered some rice to go with all these, and a pot of Chinese tea.

The strongly black pepper flavored crabs (RM55) are addictive. I have tried their popular BBQ crabs before but I would rather choose this.

The lemon steamed fish (RM30) was delicious, the chili padi and garlic a Thai signature.

The salt grilled fish (RM30) is simply applied with generous amount of salt and grilled. While the fish meat was still quite tasteless.

Squid with salted egg (RM15) though, was a bit of a disappointment. The 'salted egg sauce' was poured on separately, it was a bit weird and slimy, not something I would order again.

Deep-fried spinach (RM8) is something that you can't miss.

The bill came up to slightly less than RM35 per person including drinks for everyone (around RM180+ if not mistaken). A very satisfying dinner at exotic location at a decent price, and most importantly, with the company you want to be with.

It was not the first time I attended annual dinner but this CELMONZE annual dinner meant a lot to me. We had lunch in a famous Thai restaurant - Chakri Palace @ Suria KLCC. I have always wanted to try Thai cuisine because I heard many people saying that Thai food is TASTY! Overall, the meal was very good and I would recommend Chakri Palace to any visitor to KLCC who appreciates good Thai food.

I love the food, the concept and the ambiance that Plan B creates. However, I hope the management can do something to improve the quality of the restaurant services. Services was painfully slow, and we had to continuously ask for water, cutlery and menu.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Ringgit will be sporting a new and exciting look, with the RM20 note making a comeback.

The new banknotes, except for the RM50 note which has been in circulation since 2007, will be in the market beginning mid next year.

The fourth series of the RM50 note was issued in commemoration with Malaysia's 50th Merdeka Day celebration.

The complete new Malaysian currency series - which also include the RM1, RM5, RM10, RM20 and RM100 banknotes - was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Wednesday.

I bought myself a new Android phone for this year's Christmas, making my Christmas very wonderful! It's really wonderful, you know why? It's because of the phone itself called 'Galaxy Wonder' - new launched in the market.

My first Android phone

For the longest time, Samsung didn't have an Android phone that's not too big nor too small for an average ladies' hand. That's very surprising considering that Samsung has released oodles of Android phone of all shapes and sizes.. but not the 3.7" screen size with at least 1GHz processor type of phones. This Galaxy W has a 3.7" screen size with the same resolution as that of the Galaxy S but with a more powerful 1.4GHz processor. It also comes with a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and 4GB internal storage.

For me, Galaxy Ace is underpowered and undersized; the Galaxy S so last year and too big; and the Galaxy S2 too pricey for a phone. Thus, i think this Galaxy W could be a nice compromise. The screen is not too big to attract attention but not too small for surfing either. The processor is powerful enough to run most if not all, current apps today smoothly.

"Eat healthy at KimchiHaru", this is what i saw from their website. This restaurant is a little bit different from other Korean restaurants as it does not have "meat + roasted meat" which is so called barbecue.

Unlike other Korean BBQ restaurants, KimchiHaru provides only two side dishes which are fruit salad and kimchi. The one I always look forward is Kimchi, a traditional Korean pickled dish that is made of pickled cabbage in a spicy sauce.

KimchiHaru uses one and only 'Vegetable broth' (made from 12 fruits and vegetables) for seasoning.

Da Sa Rang Korean Restaurant

My younger sister suggested to have Korean food for family dinner,so she picked this Korean Restaurant - Da Sa Rang. I was the first person who raised my hand up as I really love Korean food!

Just like the typical Korean restaurant, we have to sit on the floor but there’s a compartment under the table for us to put our leg. So you can either fold your leg in or sit normally as if you are sitting on a chair.

My first order was this - Onion Pancake (RM25)

My all time favourite - Bim Bim Bap (RM20)

My dad ordered this seafood noodles soup *the soup tastes really good*

We shouldn't order this because it's too spicy and not appetizing

One thing I like about Korean food is they have unlimited refill of side dishes and each Korean restaurant have their own selection of side dishes.

Da Sa Rang has a variety of set menu that you can choose from, ranging from RM 40 to RM 300(inclusive of rice, noodles, seafood steamboat, marinated meat, drinks and etc). But we ordered the a-la-carte pork and marinated chicken set.

Apple co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs died at age 56 from pancreatic cancer, the company announced Thursday, leaving the technology giant without its visionary. As Patricia Sullivan reported :

Steve Jobs, a co-founder of Apple Inc., who introduced simple, well-designed computers for people who were more interested in what technology could do than in how it was done, died Wednesday (5/10/2011) at age 56.

In a brief statement, Apple announced the death but did not say where he died. Mr. Jobs, who suffered from a rare form of pancreatic cancer and had a liver transplant in 2009, stepped down as Apple’s chief executive on Aug. 24.

Explosion rips through Empire Gallery - The Star Online

SUBANG JAYA: Four people were injured while more than 300 people rescued and evacuated when an explosion occurred at the lower ground floor of the Empire Gallery shopping mall in Subang which houses the food court here early Wednesday.

Firemen from the Subang Jaya Fire and Rescue Department also rescued four other people who were trapped at the lower ground floor of the complex.

The injured, including a Nepali security guard and a local, who sustained cuts caused by falling shattered glass, were sent to the hospital for treatment.

In the 3.45am gas-piping explosion, the blast damaged two other floors in the complex. It also caused damages to the adjoining office block and studio apartment.

Subang Jaya Fire and Rescue Department station chief Mohd Khairi Daud said firemen from Subang Jaya were assisted by their colleagues from PJ and surrounding areas in evacuating the hotel guests, numbering more than 300 people.

Firemen are now checking the structure of the building to ensure its safety.

911 (September 11) is a 'everyone-knows' date, especially for those who live in USA. It is definitely a very depressing date for some people on the earth. So what? I don't even care about what 911 incident. For me and my friends, 911 is her birthday! Happy Birthday to you, Karen!

We went to SUMMER steamboat buffet for dinner but the food was very disappointing, no taste, not fresh and not much choices. My friend Kit Mun said the best food would be the ice-cream. *laugh*

After having dinner, we headed to Sook Man's house to 'blow' candle. A lot of fun we had tonight, especially Boris the joker of the day who did a good job in making us all laugh like nobody. I know Karen well, she is happy when being together with us, no matter how bad the dinner was or how simple the celebration was, she enjoyed the moment when we all are together.

Hanging out with friends on the weekends is one of the pleasant things that I love to do. Yesterday, my friends and I went to an Italian Mediterranean restaurant to have dinner. The restaurant called 'Porto Romano' but I was not sure of its pronunciation. Sounds classy, right?

The one i went was located at TTDI but they have other branches at Ampang and Mont Kiara as well. The atmosphere of the place is really nice, romantic and cosy - a sort of 'high class living room' theme.

Look! The ambience is great because it gives you cosy feeling!

Today, I had dinner with my old friends at Xian Ding Wei Taiwanese Tea Room (鲜定味). My these 'old friends' or so called 'former army' have not met each other for years. We joined the Malaysian National Service Training Program in 2004 and after 6 years, we had the chance to meet each other.

Well, it's really hard to get everyone to meet up because some of them stay very far away, some of them has gone overseas, some are busy with their works and etc. Anyway, it's happy to see each other again although there were only five of us. I felt happy and excited when we talked about those days in National Service Camp, some incidents I could not even recall until they mentioned. *laugh*

Okay, let's talk about the food now. The name of this restaurant 'Xian Ding Wei' is quite catchy when you read it in Chinese - it sounds like you need to reserve the place before dining there. The food is quite okay but I would prefer the food in Kim Gary Restaurant.

At the beach, life is different. Time doesn't move hour to hour but mood to moment. No need to keep stressing from our everyday life on our minds. We have got to leave all that behind!

I enjoyed my trip to Port Dickson with a bunch of lovely friends. "You will enjoy the trip if you go with the right people." I strongly agreed with that!

My friends and I went to Port Dickson for 2 days 1 night (27/8/11 - 28/8/11) and the place we stayed was in Glory Beach Resort. The whole trip costs approximately RM100 per person (there were five of us), inclusive of accommodation, petrol fee, toll fare, breakfast buffet, lunch and seafood dinner.

We supposed to check in at 3pm or onwards but we arrived there earlier at 2pm. Luckily, the receptionist allowed us to go in the room before 3pm. After packing all the stuffs, we had a quick lunch which prepare by ME! Yeah, it's just a homemade fried noodles and some desserts. *got good feedback from my friends*

After having lunch, we met up with our friend Karen who came with her big family. Yes, really big family (more than 10 people)! Just had some chats with her and then we had to say 'goodbye' to her because she was having family gathering. *sad*

Weng Yin Seafood Village (九哩香海鮮村) is located along the main road of Teluk Kemang, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan.

The reason we selected this place for our dinner was because of it had a 'thumb-up' from people who went before. The place is always packed with people if compared to other nearby seafood restaurants but I personally think that the food there were okay only. Some were too salty or spicy.

If you are looking for Chinese authentic cuisine or Hong Kong Dim Sum (buffet style), Janbo Group of Restaurants can be one of your choices. It has few branches but the one i went is located in Cheras.

My friend Issac Rose brought us to this restaurant after badminton session today. Personally, i think the Janbo's dim sum buffet is quite cheap for RM15.50++ per person.You can eat all you can! But of course, you will get forfeited if you couldn't finish the dim sum.

It was a good day today!

The environment is comfortable if compared to those typical dim sum restaurants but one thing that i dislike is there are people in poor service attitude.

There are more than 40 items to choose from the menu which includes dim sum either steamed or fried, noodles and porridge.

First time came to this dessert shop called "Dessert Brothers" or in Chinese "甜品哥哥". It is located at SS15 Subang Jaya (opposite of Asia Cafe).Well, it was not my first choice of going to a place for drinks. At first, my friend Fellxion decided to go and try the new rest stop "Gong Cha (贡茶) but it was FULL (as expected), then we headed off to "Cha Time (日出茶)" and guess what? It was FULL as well! Alright, here we came to this "Dessert Brothers".

Dessert Brother's menu has a wide variety which made me undecided on what to try out first. Looked through and saw lots of mango infused dessert which looks delectable.

Happy day! I received my first cheque from Nuffnang! Although it's not a big amount, I feel so much satisfied and gratified because everything started from zero. Well, it was a mini challenge for me and now I have proved that I could able to make it! Of course, there is no such thing as free lunch. I spent time and paid much efforts working on the layout designs, classifications, personalized photos, content and even the title of post.

Just to share some tips here:

1) Do update blog frequently, at least once a week.

2) Do take nice photographs.

3) Make sure the title of the post is common & search-able on Google.

4) Spend some time to design & personalize your blog.

5) No colloquial words/ phrases as reader would not want to read rubbish.

6) Always leave your comment & blog URL when visiting other people's blog.

Well, you just need to remember this: "catch the eyes, inspire the mind"

FYI, I crashed out mid of July 2011 and received the cheque this morning. It took approximately one month. Thus, Nuffnang is well in the payment terms.

Everyone knows, the Mega Sales has been started and now is the best time to go shopping!

I had lunch with my friends Karen and Mun at Daorae Korean Restaurant this afternoon. Been there twice and i will go there again next time because I love Korean food! Well, that's not the 'why'. The food there is very authentic that you might not able to find in any other places. When talk about the environment, i would say it is a good place for gathering of 5-6 people as you can sit together and do BBQ.

My friend Karen and I bought many cosmetic & skin care products from Etude House as I heard people saying the products are good to use. It's famous in the market, especially for those who love 'Lee Min-Ho' (as displayed below).

Karen and I spent about RM200 for the products respectively. But it's worth to buy during sales period as free gift will be given out if you purchase RM100 and above. I bought loose powder, mascara, aloe soothing gel and cleansing foam. I tried the aloe soothing gel on my face and neck after showering, i found that it dries quickly and leave my skin soft and smooth. *recommended*

Besides that, i also bought a sunglasses for myself. I have always wanted to get one but kept dragging until today, i really have to buy one as my job needs me to travel extensively. Since the sales is going on, why not?

We are naturally feel better and we are more positive when our batteries are fully charged, don't you think so? Lack of energy and vitality lower its ability to cope with problems and challenges in life, isn't it true?

My battery has been fully charged today. I spent the afternoon rambling with my friend, it's so relaxing and I felt so good.

I sauntered through a natural avenue of trees, looking at a very beautiful lake, the sun bouncing off it surface. The smell and 'ozone', warmth and living. Everything is so peaceful at that moment and I could feel that I was surrounded by positive ions.

Undeniable, natural environment can really boost my positive energy that I need particularly when I am having mood swing.

To stay feeling our best, we should ask ourselves: Who gives us energy? Today onwards, I will protect myself from energy vampires.

It 'WOW' me when my friend made a left turn (while driving) because the scenery was totally blocked by trees before that.

TOKYO—A magnitude-6.7 earthquake shook northeast Japan on Thursday morning, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The quake struck around 2151 GMT off the coast of Iwate Prefecture, around 500 kilometers northeast of Tokyo, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency. The temblor registered a lower 5 on the Japanese intensity scale in parts of Iwate and Aomori prefectures, and 3 in parts of Fukushima Prefecture, where the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear complex is located.

A 50-centimeter tsunami warning issued for Iwate Prefecture was later lifted.

My elder sister bought the entire family for a crab dinner, as a celebration for Father's day. She told us that Tak Fok Seafood Restaurant is so popular and and there's always a long wait for tables. Well, I have been craving for crabs, so I didn't mind to wait.

The tables and chairs are placed so close to another that there are hardly room to move. The crabs are very cheap (RM30/kg) but other dishes are quite pricey (small portion). One thing that they need to improve is the time efficiency. The staff kept forgetting what we have ordered and we needed to keep on reminding them.

Newborn Baby Body Found in Sentul

Another dumped baby, this time in Sentul.

The first thing I did in this morning after washing my face was reading newspaper. I felt so angry and disappointed when reading the following news:

The body of a new born baby was found in the parking area near the trash bin at Sentul Utama apartment. According to the police chef, next to the baby was a plastic bag containing the umbilical and placenta. He did not dismiss the possibility of the baby being thrown from a high place based on the serious injuries to the baby's head. Maybe the person wanted to throw the baby into the trash bin but missed the target.

This kind of 'baby dumping' news always been published in the newspaper, as what I see, the causes of baby dumping might be 1) underage pregnancies 2) However, porn might be the major reason behind baby dumping.

I still could remember my lecturer told us students this: "If you don't want your baby, please don't ever throw it or kill it, bring it to me and I will give the baby a warm growing environment."

I have so much thoughts and feelings on this issue. Nowadays, porn is easily accessible and for those underage or naive teens, they just wanted to enjoy the excitement and they thought it's the social trend. It is not a NO WAY to those couples who are mature enough in thinking as they know the responsibilities. For those teens, please think properly before you act! Please consider carefully about what will be happened in the future, think about the unexpected, take on the responsibility! If you can't get the solution, ask the elder people who can make a rational decision.

The whole session took about 2.5 hours, which means 1 hour for body massage; 40 minutes for steam bath and about 40 minutes for facial treatment. There was only one masseur available at that moment, so my friend and I took turn to do the massage. At first, I took the body massage session while at the same time, my friend went for steam bath.

The very first time i got naked in front of a lady! I didn't know that I needed to take off my clothes, including bra and underwear. I covered my naked body with just a towel and then lay down on the bed as asked by the masseur, but the towel has to be lifted when doing massage. I felt so itchy and couldn't stop laughing when she was massaging my body, she said: badan kamu banyak angin~

When my friend came out from the portable steam bath:

Me: Ily, how was it?

Ily: Wow, it was very hot.

Right after I got into the portable steam bath, I was thinking: Very hot? Normal temperature what? Ily couldn't endure the dry heat, perhaps.

10 minutes later...

My god! It was really HOT and it's getting hotter and hotter! I kept staring at the clock, hoped that time passes faster. I felt like getting out from there because I need FRESH AIR! After the session, the person gave me a cup of ginger drink to warm my body and for removing wind as well.

I woke up in the afternoon (Oh! I skipped breakfast again!) and the first thing I did was to turn on my computer and logged in to my Facebook. I kept scrolling down my mouse to read those never-ending birthday wishes from my friends. *Aww... so sweet*

I was very excited while waiting for the dinner time to come because I just couldn't wait to see my lovely friends. I knew that they are all busy with works but they still spent some time with me on 4th of May. As you know, 6-8pm are peak hours and traffic jam is everywhere, so we decided to have dinner at nearby - Pasta Zanmai @ Subang Empire.

After the meal, Karen asked me to go washroom with her, so I just followed. When I came back to the restaurant, I saw a delectable cake with candles on the table. I was so touched and blessed at the moment although my face expression was not that exaggerated. They sang birthday song to me and followed by wishes, I was like floating on air or in other words, I am ecstatic!

They bought me chocolates and Choya Umeshu - a Japanese liqueur made from steeping ume fruits in alcohol of 15%. It helps to improve the blood circulation, increasing oxygen utilisation, thus increasing brain metabolism. It is also been used as a medicine in the treatment for chronic headaches and for treatment of depression. They knew that I NEED it.

Besides that, I would like to congrats Elaine for getting a diamond ring! What a good news to us! *claps*

我到底是怎么了？为何总是这样？可是，我真的到了崩溃的边缘。

每次遇到不开心的事，就会胡思乱想，缅怀过去的点点滴滴，又是一场大哭。

这种情况之下，另一个正面的我就会出现安抚负面的我，就如左肩上小天使和右肩上小恶魔。

难道你真的相信梁文音的《哭过就好了》？问题如果无法根治，就会一直累积，病魔一直滋长，到了某个阶段，你也无法肯定何时会骤然爆发，却还一直压抑，勉强熬过去，那时就真的要找心理医生。我用过很多方式来解脱，画的，涂鸦的，写的，唱得，甚至跟花草树木聊天，与一望无际的天空倾诉，这些都无法拔掉病魔的根。

朋友，这两个字对我来说有着很深奥的意思，我也不知如何解析，但我唯一肯定的是朋友是没有一辈子的，当旧的去了，不开心的也随之而去，迎面而来就是新的友人。家人，对我而言是非常重要，就算身边没有任何一个朋友，只要家人还在就好；就算遇到断人励志的事情，只要家人一句鼓励之言，我永远屹立不倒！所谓 “家家有本难念的经”，我的姐妹缘薄，时常意见不合而起冲突；也不见得父母特别宠爱我。

人家说次子/女都是比较叛逆，我承认。青少年时期，是行动上的叛逆；到了年轻时段，就是思想上的叛逆。我很向往自由，那种无拘无束的生活，偶尔想像自己变成小鸟在天空中翱翔；就有时想像自己成了一条小鱼在传说中的东海龙宫里遨游。我爱好幻想，有很多的憧憬，但是现实生活却不能如此，多么悲哀啊~

谁不想成功？谁不想在有生之年干下辉煌成绩？我也有梦想，我也想成为人上人，对社会，国家，甚至世界有所贡献，望能成为历史人物。当编制的梦想一个个变成泡影时，有再多的梦想又怎样？能不心碎吗？能不去在意吗？能真的放开一切吗？曾经尝试过，但我做不到。

人不是冷血的，对每一件事情都付出感情，就如一瓶上等的女儿红，一杯一杯慢慢地斟酌。有个经历沧桑的朋友对我说过，不要计划得太完美，也不用去计划那么多，一切随缘。此刻，我真的能够体会这句含义。“缘”是很奇妙的，它无所不在。工作上的待遇，人事上的接触，注定的姻缘，全都因 “缘” 一字而改变。

每天观察人，觉得大部分的人都是跟着一个步伐走，就这样到达一个同样的目的地；有些人，走出自己的步伐，别人看了也许会皱起眉头，但是谁管的了？《巾帼枭雄》里的柴九说: 人生有多少个十年?最重要是活得痛快!

我曾经以为，工作上能爬到头就是事业成功，可是却忽略了其它的因素。如果一个人每天要承担无数的压力，天天过得惊心胆跳，无暇理会精神上的创伤，就算有权有势有钱那又怎样？我开始慢慢地领会到什么叫作知足常乐，找一份自己能够应付又能享受的工作，赚到的钱我要旅游见世界，做好自己的本分，全心全意付出后再随意而安，可谓“行行出状元”嘛！

我不否认，我的确是个固执的人。就像一般人，都是喜听好事，拒听坏事。我知道，有些人的言语是善意的；有些则是要打击你。就是因为早早就有着这种概念，把心墙筑得高高，甚至密不透风，不让人踏进我的范围，这也许是一种自我保护的形式吧。坦白说，我小时候有被强抱（不是强暴）的阴影，造成我至今也不喜欢被人随意触碰，过于亲密的举动会惹我反感。难以相信，对吧？人们眼中的我是个活泼好动的女生，可是又有谁知道我的苦衷呢？

没有男朋友，不是我的错。为何别人总说我挑剔，把择偶条件放得太高？爸爸说：缘分未到，莫强求。我相信缘份，要来的，自然会来；不是你的，就不是你的。我思想保守，会爱惜自己的身体和灵魂，把最好的留给能够与你携手到老的人。我不会玩弄感情，也不想浪费人家的时间，一刀斩乱麻就是我的做法。世上有哪个女子不渴望被人呵护疼爱？望月老的眷顾，能得好姻缘。

有时后，用美妙的言语来贴切地形容自身的心境，也是一种享受。我就是享受这种用文字编制成文章的过程，好欣慰，好满足。我虽然很久没书写华文字，但是只要兴趣仍在，就算写久了英文部落格，还是一样能写出一篇华语作文。

写完后，感觉好多了。最近，身体总是出状况，目前还在养病时期。等痊愈以后，就去做一次身体检查。我要一个健康的体魄来走我未来的路。我相信，只要活着就有希望!

如果你有时间，请问一问自己，何时有真真地快乐过？聆听心的声音，它到底需要什么？

Human beings live a relatively t long time, at least in comparison to most animal species. So, we really need to ask ourselves the question "what is the right age to start health screening and regular checkups?"

Young does not mean you are healthy particularly. In today's society, we hear stories about people getting cancer, no matter what age people are. Young adults and adults up to age 30 can get away with checkups every two years, for the most part, except for PAP screening in women and also regular breast self-examination.

A Thank You Note

Today was my last day at Essence Communications. A very emotional day indeed. Days like this always feel weird and sad. Weird because I'm leaving something that I've come to know so well to venture off into a somehow unknown future; sad because I'm leaving behind a load of memories and mainly because I know I'll be missing the team I spent most of my day with for over 8 months, so much.

Why did I take this step? Well, I guess, I just felt the time was right to move on, all the omens were right, maybe the stars were in place too or whatever else you believe in.

I'm proud to have served here, and I'm proud of the wonderful work that I've done so far. Only time will tell what kind of impact that is going to have on the life of people. But I'll maintain my hopes up.

Saying good bye to people I've worked with, people I shared my time, sweat and blood with was the hardest thing ever. But it had to be done.

I had a wonderful farewell luncheon with my ex-colleagues at Secret Recipe last Friday. Today, I enjoyed my delicious lunch with them again. Thanks to the HR manager who treated me a slice of green tea cheese cake in the evening just now.

While everyone was partying the night away during the weekend, especially at Saturday night as the next day is "Non-working day" for workers or "Non-schooling day" for students, my friends and I headed to Lala Chong for some rocking Chinese-style seafood. The original restaurant was located at Terminal 3, Subang and now it has been relocated to Kampung Ara, Damansara. Good for PJ folks like us!

According to my friends, it was not just a simply dinner but they 'celebrated' for my resignation which my last day will be on April 26 (this coming Tuesday). *laugh*

The world will end in 2012, say experts

Several experts from across the globe are predicting that the earth is likely to end by the year 2012. The reason could be a human effect or natural disaster. From Chinese theories to scientific predictions the most likely date is the year 2012.

Reason one: Mayan calendar
The first to predict 2012 as the end of the world were the Mayans, a bloodthirsty race that were good at two things -- building highly accurate astrological equipment out of stone and sacrificing virgins. Thousands of years ago they managed to calculate the length of the lunar moon as 329.53020 days, only 34 seconds out. The Mayan calendar predicts that the earth will end on December 21, 2012.

Given that they were pretty close to the mark with the lunar cycle, it’s likely they’ve got the end of the world right as well.

Reason two: Sun storms
Solar experts from around the world monitoring the sun have made a startling discovery. Our sun is in a bit of strife. The energy output of the sun is, like most things in nature, cyclic and it’s supposed to be in the middle of a period of relative stability. However, recent solar storms have been bombarding the earth with lot of radiation energy. It’s been knocking out power grids and destroying satellites. This activity is predicted to get worse and calculations suggest it’ll reach its deadly peak sometime in 2012.

Reason three: The atom smasher
Scientists in Europe have been building the world’s largest particle accelerator. Basically, its a 27 km tunnel designed to smash atoms together to find out what makes the universe tick. However, the mega-gadget has caused serious concern, with some scientists suggesting that it’s properly even a bad idea to turn it on in the first place. They’re predicting all manner of deadly results, including mini black holes. So when this machine is fired up for its first serious experiment in 2012, the world could be crushed into a super-dense blob the size of a basketball.

Reason four: The Bible says it
If having scientists warning us about the end of the world isn’t bad enough, religious folks are getting in on the act as well. Interpretations of the Christian Bible reveal that the date for Armageddon, the final battle between good an evil, has been set for 2012. The I Ching, also known as the Chinese Book of Changes, says the same thing, as do various sections of the Hindu teachings.

Reason five: Super volcano

Yellowstone National Park in United States is famous for its thermal springs and old faithful geyser. The reason for this is simple -- it’s sitting on top of the world’s biggest volcano and geological experts are beginning to get nervous sweats. The Yellowstone volcano has a pattern of erupting every 650,000 years or so, and we’re many years overdue for an explosion that will fill the atmosphere with ash, blocking the sun and plunging the earth into a frozen winter that could last up to 15,000 years. The pressure under the Yellowstone is building steadily, and geologists have set 2012 as a likely date for the big bang.

Reason six: The physicists
This one’s case of bog -- simple maths mathematics. Physicists at Berkely University have been crunching the numbers. They’ve determined that the earth is well overdue for a major catastrophic event. Even worse, they’re claiming that their calculations prove that we’re all going to die, very soon. They are also saying that their prediction comes with a certainty of 99 per cent; and 2012 just happens to be the best guess as to when it occurs.

Reason seven: Earth’s magnetic field
We all know the Earth is surrounded by a magnetic field that shields us from most of the sun’s radiation. What you might not know is that the magnetic poles we call North and South have a nasty habit of swapping places every 750,000 years or so -- and right now we’re about 30,000 years overdue. Scientists have noted that the poles are drifting apart roughly 20-30 kms each year, much faster than ever before, which points to a pole-shift being right around the corner. While the pole shift is under way, the magnetic field is disrupted and will eventually disappear, sometimes for up to 100 years. The result is enough UV outdoors to crisp your skin in seconds, killing everything it touches.

The earth, mother nature has been rumbling and almost along the same fault line last Friday a 8.9 recording on the Richeter Scale (which was corrected to 9.0 yesterday) earthquake happened 24.4km below sea level off the coast of Honshu Island , Japan . Japan earthquake: Nuclear blast radiation explained

Tokyo (CNN) -- Another reactor at Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant lost its cooling capabilities Monday, a government official said.

The problem was detected in the plant's No. 2 reactor Monday afternoon after an explosion rocked the building containing the plant's No. 3 reactor, Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano told reporters.

"We think that the hydrogen explosion in (the building housing) reactor No. 3 caused the cooling system of reactor No. 2 to stop working," Edano said.

Water levels were falling and pressure was building up inside the No. 2 reactor, he said, and officials were working on a plan to release gas and also inject seawater into that reactor.

Workers have been injecting seawater in a last-ditch effort to cool down fuel rods and prevent a full meltdown at two other reactors at the plant -- No. 1 and No. 3 -- after an 8.9-magnitude earthquake and ensuing tsunami Friday knocked out the reactors' cooling systems.

Japanese officials have said that they are operating under the presumption that there may be a partial meltdown in the No. 3 and No. 1 nuclear reactors. Authorities have not yet been able to confirm a meltdown, because it is too hot inside the affected reactors to check.

Why Earthquake Caused Tsunami?

A tsunami is a large ocean wave that is caused by sudden motion on the ocean floor. This sudden motion could be an earthquake, a powerful volcanic eruption, or an underwater landslide. The impact of a large meteorite could also cause a tsunami. Tsunami travel across the open ocean at great speeds and build into large deadly waves in the shallow water of shoreline.

Subduction zones are potential tsunami locations

Most tsunamis are caused by earthquakes generated in a subduction zone, an area where an oceanic plate is being forced down into the mantle by plate tectonic forces. The friction between the subducting plate and the overriding plate is enormous. This friction prevents a slow and steady rate of subduction and instead the two plates become "stuck".

Accumulated seismic energy

As the stuck plate continues to descend into the mantle the motion causes a slow distortion of the overriding plage. The result is an accumulation of energy very similar to the energy stored in a compressed spring. Energy can accumulate in the overriding plate over a long period of time - decades or even centuries.

Earthquake Causes Tsunami

Energy accumulates in the overriding plate until it exceeds the frictional forces between the two stuck plates. When this happens, the overriding plate snaps back into an unrestrained position. This sudden motion is the cause of the tsunami - because it gives an enormous shove to the overlying water. At the same time, inland areas of the overriding plate are suddenly lowered.

Tsunami races away from the Epicenter

The moving wave begins travelling out from where the earthquake has occurred. Some of the water travels out and across the ocean basin, and, at the same time, water rushes landward to flood the recently lowered shoreline.

Deadliest Tsunamis in History

Indian Ocean tsunami, 2004: 150,00 killed or missing in 11 countries. This tsunami unleashed the energy equivalent of 23,000 atomic bombs, according to the USGS.
Java, 1883: Krakatou volcano erupted, triggering tsunamis that killed 36,000 people.
Honshu, Japan, 1896: 27,000 killed.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Company - Casual theme restaurant inspired by the movie Forest Gump. The Bubba Gump restaurant is named after the movie's main characters Benjamin Buford "Bubba" Blue and Forrest Gump. Bubba suggested the shrimping business and ultimately Forrest pursued the idea after Bubba's death when they served in the Vietnam War.

Me? I was there on last Saturday to celebrate my friends' birthday - Kok Jing & Loo Shin. Stepping into the restaurant was like stepping into a 'shrimp' land as I could see there was a variety of shrimp dishes on each table.

If you going to have birthday party or whatever occasion in T.G.I Friday, just because of the birthday song singing session by the workers there, I would suggest you another restaurant which you can have that kind of 'fun' as well - Bubba Gump - Good food, nice location, right ambience and great service!
