Visit To An Orphanage

What do people normally do on Sunday? Shopping? Staying at home? Playing games? I had a very meaningful Sunday. It was my first visit to an Orphanage in my city yesterday.

There were 6 of us (May, Fellxion, Avelyn, Ily, Jun and me). We bought them a big chocolate cake and goody bags (candies) as well. I realized that those orphans are quite happy living together under the same roof as they are provided sufficient facilities and foods. But as you know, orphans have the psychological difficulties especially autism. Some of them were happy but some of them were not.

Tell you what. There are some rules and regulations in an Orphanage such as no hugging, no asking too much... and etc. I was like 'what!?' when knowing this type of strict rules because I think we should show them our cares and loves. Of course, I would not ask about their family background because it might hurt the orphans. And yes, the caregivers should let us know about this rules at first because this is their responsibility.

May, you should do research on the place we would like to go next time. Since the orphanage we went are not in lack of anything, I think we can rather spend our money and time on those orphans who really need our help. Right? *wink*

Season House @ Agricultural Park

Last Friday, I went to Agricultural Park (Bukit Cahaya) with a bunch of friends. There are so many things to see and do here that you need more than a day to do it justice.

The best way to see what this huge Agricultural Park has to offer is by bicycle, which can be rented here. Cycling up and down the hills, passing through beautiful lakes that decorate the Park is an exhilarating experience itself.

But too bad, the day I went was a public holiday and all the bicycles had been rented out when I reached there.

Coffee at Utusan Karya

I just arrived home from Utusan Karya and now I am doing this -- blogging! Efficient right? That's me! Ha! I guess my group is the first to go for company interview among the others, that's because my group-mate might not be free in coming weeks due to the multiple camera training. *sigh*

The day before today, none of us know about the location of this magazine company even though the place is just near by our university. *shy to say that* So, how? GOOGLE MAP! Finally, we were able to reach the place by appointment time and we were well served by the workers there. There was a stunned silence when we saw the foods on the table, what a nice way of showing enthusiastic welcome! As usual, we took many pictures while waiting for the editor to come and later on, I saw he chuckled at the moment he walked in the meeting room, he might have seen something funny -- a bunch of rural people taking pictures like crazy! *roar*

He is the main editor for all twelve magazines ( Wanita, Mastika, Mangga, Hai, Al Islam, iSihat...). According to him, people who are not interested in writing should not work in the printing company because only enthusiast can write good articles all the time. He talked in an excited way about the challenges, managements, staff reunion party, moments when he was in university and many old stories. The conversation was very fun and relax, I gained some knowledge from what he had said. He made me feel something even more strongly and I believe that my decision of not to take master degree is right. As he said, practice is more important then study in the lecture room, experience is always the best teacher.

A Visit to Pn. Lee's House

Yesterday, I received a phone message from my ex-classmate Kit Mun : "Hey, are you free at 3pm tomorrow? We're going to visit Pn. Lee's house, come and join us!" I replied her by saying YES in 5 seconds. In every Chinese New Year, I would go and visit my teachers' house with a bunch of ex-classmates. It is just like a tradition for me to keep in touch with old teachers and old friends. When we first saw the house, the words "oh my god" were come out from each mouth of us, the house is so NICE as a beautiful garden house. SIMPLE and COMFORTABLE - the best two words to describe the environment. As usual, we all asked the common question "how are you" and got back the common answer "fine", funny right? *laughed*

We had a happy talk and I like the almond crunch cookies *yummy*
