Daorae Korean BBQ Restaurant

"An Yong Ha Se Yo" when literally translated is "How Are You". Korean language is quite familiar for me as I've learned this language when I was in university. The first time I went to the Korean BBQ Restaurant -- Daorae. (USJ, Taipan)

Many different types of BBQ set are available in this restaurant. If you are a pork lover, you should not miss it. The pricing for BBQ set is slightly expensive as a small plate will cost you about 30 bucks. With the heat and hot smoke of fire, the servant will do the grilling part for customer. Personally, I like this kind of service which is more convenience and enjoyable.

A plus point for Daorae is that every table comes equipped with a cooker hood, which sucks up most of the smoke. It means there is no unpleasant bbq odour lingering on the customers, nor the restaurant. Amazingly, they opted to use charcoal as the heating element, which I personally have an extra liking for as I find the dishes to have a more authentic taste compared to their gas-stove counterparts.

Our dinner ware was traditional Korean style with metal chopsticks and spoon. We opted for Korean tea which was refreshing and mild. The stainless steel cutlery reminded me of Korean drama -- Dae Jang Geum.

As expected from a Korean BBQ restaurant, we got an assortment of side dishes. The one  people always look forward to is kimchi, which literally translated means “to preserve”. Kimchi is a traditional Korean pickled dish that is made of pickled vegetables  (typically cabbage) in a spicy sauce.

There are more than 10 different side dishes to be served. This include Bean Sprouts, Kimchi, Anchovies and Peanuts, Korean Pancake, Green Vegetables, Green Beans, Fruits Salad, Sausages, Soup, Steamed Eggs and etc. For your information, these dish are refillable. *eat as you can*

One of the side dishes that I like is Green Bean Chili. It is not that kind of green bean that we always eat at home,  it's very palatable and refreshing. You should have a try on it. *mouthwatering*

The well-marinated pork (RM35) turned out fantastic, and we also learned from them the proper way of indulging on the BBQ meat. After cooked they would cut it up into smaller bite size pieces. After every item that they cooked, they will change the metal plate so that we would not get the remains of the charred bits. *non-halal*

The Korean Steamed Eggs is  quite nice. If compared to Chinese Steamed Eggs, this Korean style would be more solid and fructify.

I ordered this Korean Mixed Rice with Raw Egg. The servant poured the red sauces into the stone bowl  and then stirred for 2 minutes. The raw egg is actually cooked by the excess heat from the stone bowl. Tell you what, it looks weird but the taste is nice! No doubt!

My friend ordered this Korean Rice Cake with Kimchi. Some people might like it but for me, I don't really like that kind of spicy-sweet-sour taste. So, I just had a little portion of it. We didn't order the Korean Big Pancake which is actually tastes good. *I think so as I saw many customers ordered that*

Kit Mun & Me.

Vernon & Kelvin. Another friend FFK us! *laughed*

The staffs were very polite, very friendly service, bowing as we made our way into and on leaving the restaurant. This courtesy indeed brings a smile to each customer, making Daorae a real pleasant place to enjoy delicious Korean Food.
